Gift bags are a great way to add a personalized touch to your gifts. Instead of buying pre-made bags, why not
sew your own gift bags using a beautiful sewing pattern? It not only adds an extra level of creativity but
also allows you to customize the bag to suit any occasion.
Instructions:
- Choose a fabric: Select a fabric of your choice. Consider the occasion and the
person you are gifting it to. You can go for festive prints, floral patterns, or simple solids based
on your preference. - Cut the fabric: Cut two rectangular pieces of fabric, making sure they’re the same
size. Measure according to the desired dimensions of your gift bag, leaving extra space for seam
allowance. - Sew the sides: Place the two fabric pieces together, right sides facing each other.
Sew the sides together using a sewing machine or by hand, leaving the top open. - Create a casing: At the top of the bag, fold the fabric over about half an inch and
press. Fold again, creating a casing for the ribbon or drawstring. Sew along the folded edge,
leaving a small opening to insert the ribbon. - Insert the ribbon: Attach a safety pin to one end of the ribbon and thread it
through the casing. Pull the ribbon through until both ends are equal length. - Tie it up: Fill your gift bag with goodies and gently pull the ribbon to close the
bag. Tie a bow to secure it in place.
